The Thuraya XT Dual is an all-rounder amongst satellite phones. Firstly its robust design (water and dust resistant) is impressive, and secondly it is extremely light and small. Even dropping it on the ground or being run over by a car won’t really damage it. Technically the device has much to offer: in GSM mode it can be used as a 3-band device (900/1800/1900 MHz) and the battery charge in sat mode will last up to 60 hours. These are just two of its advantages.

Furthermore it has most of the features you will be familiar with on a modern smart phone. To receive and send e-mails and to surf on the web is all possible on the (colour) display. In case the display is too small the device can be connected to the internet using a laptop. It has a built-in compass, can determine your location, record routes and find a previously defined target by means of co-ordinates.

In case you find yourself in an emergency you can send previously programmed text messages to numbers chosen in advance via a special key combination. Through the function Hi Penetration Alerting Capability (HPA) you can be reached even when the antenna is not extended.
